The venue kicked off at 8pm with the first band Men of Unitus which at times sounded like a mix of Alternative Rock and Black Metal. Try and imagine listening to the monotonous bang of blur’s old classic Sing but with Black or Death Metal style singing over the top. Afterwards I asked the singer the style of their sound but he wasn’t sure himself, I think the guitarist said “its like Metal but without the Metal.”The singer was definitely the most animated soul of the night, screeching his lyrics that could only be understood if you had the words written down on your hand, coming off stage and singing in the crowd. He even disappeared for five under the stage. Men of Unitus from Hertfordshire were the most local of the evenings acts.Contact us
